This comes from Email Dawn Vohwinkel. If you have any ideas or can help please email her at

Hi everyone…. Time to reach out to the network of kind souls I know!

I have two exchange students, ages 16&17, who were placed in the same house. Andréa is from France, and Sandra is from Germany. Their host mom is having a hard time adjusting, so I need to find a new home for them. Do you know of anyone who would enjoy welcoming either of these wonderful girls, or both? They are kind and polite and will follow your house rules. The need to find a new home is really due to an issue with the host mom, not the girls.

They attend WF-R High (which is in the new Heritage High for just this year), so if the prospective host family lives in that school’s base, the girl(s) can take the school bus. If the host family lives outside of that area, they would need to be willing to drive the girl(s) to school.

I am really looking for a permanent home for them until the end of the school year. Several people have offered to be temporary hosts, but I really need to find a long term solution. If the prospective family needs time to create a space in their home for the student(s), I can give them a couple of weeks to prepare while the students go to a temporary family. The girl(s) may share a room with a female close to their age, but they do need to have their own bed.

As for my second question, does anyone have an extra bed they would be willing to loan for the school year? I have a family who is considering hosting one of them, but they do not have an extra bed. A twin or a full bed would fill the need beautifully, should they decide to host.

Let me know if you feel moved to help with either of these requests!

Thank you very much,
Dawn
