The Month in Prayer

01

OUR PRAYER FOCUS FOR FEBRUARY IS:    GROWING A LIFE OF LOVE;

MIGHTY WATERS CANNOT EXTINGUISH LOVE;
RIVERS CANNOT SWEEP IT AWAY...............
 (Song of Solomon 8:7 Holman CSB)

WE LOVE BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US...
  (1 John 4:19) Holman CSB)

February is the month of cupids and valentines...a month in which we honor those we love with candy, flowers, cards and other gifts but what of the ONE who loves us most!   The daily prayers are to help us grow in the life that God intended for His children...a life of love.

Here are some suggestions:

l.  Make a list of the difficult people in your life and pray for them daily.

2. Every week serve another person who cannot benefit you in return.

3. Step out in service at your place of worship and seek to love God with your heart more fully.

4.  Participate on a mission team to serve persons in crisis.

5.  Take the first step and seek healing in a broken relationship.  Begin with prayer
     then show God's healing love with a letter of apology or gift.

6.  Keep a daily prayer journal to grow your capacity to love.  Pray regularly for
     friends and enemies. List three blessings that you have received from God
     and give thanks.

7.  Spend an entire day of uninterrupted time with your family.

8.  Give sacrificially to a special ministry at your church or community over and beyond
     your ordinary giving to God.

9.  Send cards of encouragement and love to the ill, homebound or those in your church who need a
     a loving word.

10. Spend a morning visiting persons in a hospital who have no visitors.  Love others as God has
      first loved you.

.........THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE..............
           (Galatians 5:22)
