Our Missions

Our mission work is a central focus of our Christian walk here at WFUMC.

Our vision is to be an alive, inclusive church that reaches out to care for others in the name of Jesus Christ through increased involvement in conference missions & visions, and greater community interaction; and which will grow and nurture the family of God in Wake Forest by passing the flame of Christian love, spiritual growth and fellowship from one generation to the next.

We are called in many areas to serve, both locally and far off lands. Please consider helping your church family help others in the name of God. There are many ways you can serve.

  • Tri-Area Ministry
  • – Help feed the hungry in Wake and Franklin counties with donations of non-perishable food to this non-profit, all-volunteer group. Or volunteer some time to help with running the operation. Food donations are collected every 1st Sunday in the Narthex hallway.
  • Gleaning
  • – Join church groups to glean food from farmers’ fields in the area for the Society of St. Andrew. The food is donated to the Tri-Area Ministry and other groups in the area dedicated to feeding the hungry.
  • Pennies for Potatoes
  • – Small boxes to hold your spare change are on a table in the Narthex. Please take a box home with you, collect your pocket change during the week, leave the box on the table when it’s full, and take another box. This is a great way to help The Society of St. Andrew feed the hungry.
  • Triangle Pastoral Counseling - This local charitable organization helps many people overcome lifes difficult problems through counseling and other types of assistance.
  • Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network (WIHN)
  • – WIHN is a ministry for families who are temporarily homeless. Its purpose is to provide shelter, food, job search, and money management training (if needed), and assistance in finding affordable housing to families until they are able to secure housing of their own.
  • Wheelchair Ramp Building - This mission demonstrates the spirit of Christ in all the people involved with building wheelchair ramps for our neighbors in need. No matter what your skill level is in building projects there is a job waiting for you.
