United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women is a group of women in our congregation organized for mission. Our organization is:

  • Centered in relationship with God through Jesus Christ
  • Focused on ministries with women, children and youth - Layettes are sent to the Wake County Health Department for needy mothers and their newborns.
  • Involved in mission:
locally - Pillow Ministry -pillows are put together by UMW members and are sent to members of our congregation who are shut-ins, newborns and hospitalized (plus family and friends of members). We put together school kits for Wake County children and collect Campbell Soup labels to help buy computers and equipment for Methodist schools.
globally - as a group we have supplies children in foreign countries with school supplies.

Our Purpose Statement

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
