Fellowship Class -contact Susan Rogers , 556-1994
We have members of all ages. Teachers rotate the leadership duties of both contemporary and traditional Bible Study lessons that we choose as a class. Lessons are based around group discussion. A long term plan is to have a series of lessons on spiritual growth followed by a retreat. We often have covered dish breakfasts or luncheons on Sunday. The most unique thing about this class is the activities for adults and families outside the classroom. We have gone camping, out to eat, and have various celebrations at member's homes. The class also does several church or community service projects or mission events each year. These have included helping needy families with food, money, and clothing, and fixing up or cleaning parts of the church. The Fellowship Class is not just a Sunday morning lesson, but a support group of friends as we walk our daily Christian walk. |
Renewal Class - contact Linda Klose, 556-2293
We traditionally study the International Sunday School lesson using the United Methodist curriculum, "Adult Bible Studies." We enjoy taking a deeper look at assigned passages of Scripture, examining why it was written and in what circumstances, and then spending a good deal of our time discussing how the passage affects us personally in our daily walk with Christ. The Fall Quarter focuses on Old Testament passages which call our attention to how God challenges us to not only be obedient and faithful, but to change and persevere as well! The Winter Quarter brings us to the New Testament where we begin with the birth of Christ, take a brief overview of his ministry and the calling of the 12 disciples, and then on to Jerusalem for the crucifixion and resurrection. The Gospel of Luke will serve as our primary text and we will focus primarily on passages distinctive to Luke. This class is led by three individuals who alternate teaching on a monthly basis. Each has their own personal "style" which keeps the class fresh and very interesting. Members feel very open to share their opinions, concerns, and insights, which often provokes lively and interesting discussions. Our class welcomes visitors and new members!. |
The Sanctuary Class - contact David & Melissa Biallas, 554-1818
This class is a small discussion group that welcomes all new comers. Do you need respite from the stress of every day life? The name "Sanctuary Class" was initially assigned because it met in the back of the sanctuary. The name was kept because the class is a safe place to grow and share your faith, a sanctuary of Christian love. We enjoy seasonal fellowship gatherings outside of class. The topical bible studies are selected by the group; with discussions tending to focus on stretching Sunday through the week. We are currently studying "God Was Here and I Was Out to Lunch," by James Moore. We do seasonal studys for Advent and Lent. |
Seekers Class - contact Bernie Hardy, 562-1637
Our class is comprised of adults of all ages. We have married and single adults who enjoy our class. Our lessons are generally in a series format, with our emphasis on discussion of the scripture as it pertains to our lives today. We offer adults the chance to air their views in a non-judgmental environment. We have recently concluded lessons on worship, prayer, and the parables. We have social activities outside of class as well. If you are looking for a Sunday School Class to call home, we would love to have you join us! |
